National Golf League

Finally, a reason to tailgate for golf tournaments. The National Golf League (NGL) is the new professional golf league that elevates the level of excitement from the traditional; some would argue “stuffy,” game we are all familiar with. There are no ropes, no quiet signs, and full access to the professionals. If you are curious why your favorite player used a specific club, go ahead and ask as you walk with them between shots. We created the League in 2004 for us, the next generation of golf fans, the social golfers, the young professionals looking for events that take our idea of fun into account. With that in mind, our series of tournaments are designed to be high energy and fast paced. Our players are young talented professionals who are eager to make a name for themselves in the sport. Oh yeah, did we mention that we also pair our events with things such as brewfests, concerts, outdoor movies, and social mixers?

You may be asking, have we changed anything about the way the game is played? To put it simply, yes. We have transformed golf from an individual game into a team sport. Sounds revolutionary but it’s actually not much different from the setup of most mainstream sports. 18 teams compete in three round tournaments that rotate between the styles of, best ball, alternate shot, and scramble. The style of play is fun and something most of us play on the links with a group our closest friends. At the end of the regular season. the top teams in each division earn the right to compete in the National Championship Tournament.

To add an extra level of excitement, our professionals are also playing against the clock. The rounds have to be completed in tight timeframes so you will not see our players hacking out 10 practice swings or plucking grass to examine the fine nuances of the weather patterns. The style of play favors aggressive, offensive, and risk taking players which ultimately provides the fans with a day full of amazing plays.

If you are ready to kick back with a cold beer, get some sun, and watch some of the nation’s most talented golfers duke it out, visit www.nationalgolfleague.com to find the next event near you.
